HYDERABAD (July 27 2007): Sindh Chamber of Agriculture has decided to host two-day convention of the Chambers of Agriculture Pakistan from September 8, 2007. The Federal Ministers Sikandar Bosan and Jehangir Tareen would be invited as the guests to discuss the issues being faced by the growers` community of the country.
Sindh Chamber of Agriculture, which received the honour of leading the Federation of Agriculture Chambers Pakistan for a period of one year, has decided to organise the convention in its recently held meeting. The President Sindh Chamber of Agriculture Syed Qamar-uz-Zaman Shah, who is now acting as the President of the Federation of Agriculture Chambers Pakistan, presided over the meeting, which reviewed the problems being faced by the growers of Sindh.
The meeting demanded the inclusion of dates production in the national diary of Agriculture Price Commission and called upon the government to fix support price of Dates as being announced for other crops.
The meeting termed the water rotation programme being carried out by the Irrigation Department in the canals of Kotri and Sukkur Barrages including Pinyari, Rohri Canals and Naseer Division as illegal and demanded the withdrawal of such programme.
