The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Foreign Agricultural Service today announced that it will host a U.S. Foods Pavilion March 10-14, 2008, at Alimentaria in Barcelona, Spain. Held biennially, Alimentaria will be the most important food show in Spain in 2008, and will likely rank among the three largest in Europe.
Alimentaria 2006 welcomed 4,148 exhibitors and attracted more than 152,000 buyers, nearly a third from outside of Spain. U.S. exports of agricultural, fish and forestry products to Spain totaled nearly $1 billion in fiscal year 2006, making it the 13th largest export destination.
Exhibiting in the USA Pavilion at Alimentaria provides an easy, cost-effective way to promote products, with a choice of furnished booths. Exhibitors will have an opportunity to learn first-hand about regional market trends. Products with the best market prospects include U.S. food products and ingredients that form part of, or compliment, the Mediterranean diet.
