The demand for up to date information about the plant protection products used and the checks made on residues is growing in the sale of fruit and vegetables. This is why VDT, the VDN growers association, has asked Groeinet to develop an information system that makes all the data relating to any agents used more accessible and complete.
In this way the VDT growers, sales organisations and the VDN get better, more comprehensive insight into applications, permitted agents and MRLs. At an early stage VDT / VDN recognised the importance of a complete system concerning the agents used and in doing so anticipated the increasing demand from customers for more information about the food safety of products.
In this way the different parties in the VDN chain can deal pro-actively and ensure that products are sold in the areas for which they are suitable. This prevents customer claims and other problems from arising.
Finally, data from Groeinetís GlobalGAP registration system can now be used as a supplement to the GRIS so that users donít have to register twice.
