“Comprehensive programs like “Train the Trainer” through ADDP & PHDEB will reduce the wastage of these agricultural resources and will contribute in raising the income of the farming community not link with the modern infrastructure and can not sale their produce efficiently.” This was stated by Mr. Shamoon Sadiq, Chief Execuvtive Officer, Pakistan Horticulture Development & Export Board (PHDEB) on the occasion of Award Certificate Ceremony of “Train the Trainer programme” at Faculty of Management Sciences, IIUI Islamabad.
According to a press release issued hereby PHDEB, Mr. Sadiq further said that agriculture is backbone of the economy of Pakistan and keeping in view the importance of agriculture, special emphasis has been given to agribusiness sector and its diversification so that we may be able to meet the challenge of the changing world economy.
He further said that PHDEB is actively involved in running trade related capacity building programs and has so far conducted many courses in the areas of WTO and Professional Management. PHDEB has realize the wastage occurring in our precious agricultural resources and out puts therefore it is hoped this program will substantial improve the living conditions of the masses in the rural areas, Mr. Sadiq added.
Mr. Akram Khalid, Project Director, Agribusiness Development & Diversification Project (ADDP) highlighted the significant aspects of the program. He said that the main objective of the program is to train the Principals of Govt. Commerce Colleges of potential agricultural areas to shoulder the responsibilities in agribusiness.
The Professor Danishmand, Dean, FMS, IIUI said that the University is fully aware of its responsibility for the development of the country on sound basis for which agribusiness is very vital. The University has trained more than 2000 business executive and Govt. functionaries and now contributing to raise the capacity of the trainers in educational institutions in collaboration with PHDEB.
PHDEB in collaboration with ADDP, Ministry of Food Agriculture and Livestock (MINFAL) and Executive Development Centre, Faculty of management Sciences, International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) arranged a 6-day Training Program on School Management Skills for conducting Demand Driven Training.
